1 John
Fellowship with God
John was the disciple whom Jesus loved (John 13:23). This beloved disciple speaks of love many times in his Gospel and in his Epistles.
In the book we are considering, 1 John, he concentrates his efforts on helping the believer understand the joy of fellowship with God.
The key verse of the book is I John 1:7, But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
The outline of the book follows the theme of fellowship throughout:
The Foundation of Fellowship 1:1-4
The Conditions of Fellowship 1:5-2:11
The Conduct of Fellowship 2:12-29
The Characteristics of Fellowship 3:1-24
The Cautions of Fellowship 4:1-21
The Certainties of Fellowship 5:1-21
It is well worth one's time to read and study this little book.
My prayer is that these outlines will help anyone who wishes to untilize this resource in their understanding of the Word of God.
May you know sweet fellowship with God through His Wonderful Son!
